Memorize: "Bear ye one another's burdens" Galatians 6:2

Song of the Week: The Holy Ghost (CS 105)

Monday

Doctrine: The Holy Ghost helps me feel love, joy, and peace. Galatians 5:22–23

Scripture

  • Show a fruit tree picture. Like a tree that gives us fruit, the Holy Ghost can give us wonderful blessings. Read Galatians 5:22-23 to discover those blessings.

Coloring page

Activities

  • Make a "peace fort" using a white sheet and pillows. Play peaceful music and hug stuffed animals in the peace fort. (Idea from here)

  • Read the story A Comforting Song.

  • With a sharpie, write different fruits of the spirit on some good bananas. Write negative feelings, like anger or hate, onto bruised bananas.

Tuesday

Doctrine: The Holy Ghost helps me feel love, joy, and peace. Galatians 5:22–23

Scripture

Activities

  • Set a timer for one minute to find each kind of fruit in the kitchen. Make/decorate paper place mats labeled with fruits of the Spirit. Place a different fruit on each mat.

  • Ask your children to describe the taste of various fruits. Like fruits have different flavor, we can feel the Holy Ghost in different ways.

  • Match up this Fruits of the Spirit Puzzle.

Wednesday

Doctrine: Jesus Christ wants me to help those in need. Galatians 6:2

Scripture

  • Watch this clip of Joseph and Emma helping the saints who fell ill in Nauvoo.

Coloring page

Activities

  • Give a child something heavy to carry. Many things can feel like a burden, such as being sick or feeling sad or lonely. Ask another child to help lift the object.

  • Ask which of these pictures of baptismal covenants shows bearing another's burden.

  • Solve scenarios with kindness in this activity (scroll down to activity in the link).

Thursday

Scripture

Activities

  • Watch A Flood of Rescuers. It may be fun to act it out in the bathtub with toys.

  • Make a Helping Hands outfit by taping hand outlines to yellow clothing. Walk around the house searching for family members or stuffed animals in need.

  • Put together this puzzle (Ctrl F "caboose") based on the scripture "bear ye one another's burdens."

Friday

Doctrine: Our actions, both good and bad, have consequences. Galatians 6:7–9

Scripture

Activities

  • Show that choices have good and bad consequences with this CTR poster.

  • Play this Choose the Right board game based on Chutes and Ladders.

  • Read the story Toys in the Tub.

  • Have your children draw pictures of good choices they made this week and the consequences that followed.

Saturday

Doctrine: Our actions, both good and bad, have consequences. Galatians 6:7–9

Scripture

  • Display a seed and a vegetable. Read Galatians 6:7–9, pretending to plant a seed for the word “soweth" and pick a vegetable from a plant for the word “reap.”

Coloring page

  • Color the trees in the activity (pg 6-8) listed below.

Activities

  • Show seed packet pictures (pg 5), asking what will grow from each seed. Compare to consequences.

  • Do this activity (pg 6-8) of sorting seeds that lead to corruption or everlasting life.

  • Make a poster chart of household consequences for specific good and bad behavior.

Sunday
