Acts 16–21
Young children

Memorize: "They … searched the scriptures daily" (Acts 17:11).
Song of the Week: I Know My Father Lives (CS 5)
- Grab plastic cups and sing with this simple cup pattern. 
- Let your child control your singing with a remote control (fast, repeat, pause, play, volume, etc.) 
- Hide parts of the song around the room in this puzzle game (Ctrl F "song"). 
- Try learning the ASL version. 
Monday
Doctrine: Missionaries teach people about Jesus. Acts 16:25–34
Scripture story
- Watch: Paul and Silas in Prison, New Testament Stories 
Coloring page
Activities
- Cut holes in cardboard to make prison stocks for acting out the scripture story. 
- Dress up like school teachers and teach each other about Jesus. Show a picture of missionaries, explaining that this is what missionaries do. 
- Sing "Called to Serve" marching in a conga line around the house. 
Tuesday
Doctrine: Missionaries teach people about Jesus. Acts 16:25–34

- Review the scripture story with gummy bears in a prison of pretzel sticks stuck to graham crackers with frosting/cream cheese (as shown here.) 
- Prepare your children for missionary experiences by helping them recite simple doctrines in response to questions about God or Jesus.

Wednesday
Doctrine: The scriptures testify of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Acts 17:10–12

- Work on the memorization phrase of the week.

- Play a scripture chase with children pointing to artwork from the life of Christ and parents racing to that passage of scripture.

- Challenge your children to find and mark ten occurrences of "Lord" in the scriptures. Then find "God" ten times.

- With this illustration of Heavenly Father, talk about how we were made in His image, pointing out similar characteristics. 
- Match baby animals to their parent, then explain that we can become like Heavenly Father. 
- Make royal crowns labeled "I Am a Child of God." 
Saturday

Scripture story
- Dress up your children like Romans and climb up a hill or some stairs together. Preach to them as Paul.

- Write a physical challenge (jumping jacks, squats, etc.) on the back of each square. Take turns picking a square, doing the challenge, and reading the text about God.
