Activities

Wednesday

Doctrine: I can be baptized for people who died. 1 Corinthians 15:29

Scripture

  • Practice saying the phrase "baptized for the dead" from 1 Cor 15:29.

Coloring page

Activities

  • Show a church font and temple font. Tape the numbers 8 and 12 to the correct pictures.

  • Sing "I Love to See the Temple" looking for temple cards with paper roll spyglasses.

  • Have your child draw himself into this baptismal font (Ctrl F "font").

Thursday

Doctrine: I can be baptized for people who died. 1 Corinthians 15:29

Scripture

  • Ask "Who can we be baptized for when we turn 12?" Read 1 Cor 15:29 if they cannot remember. Ask where baptisms for the dead happen.

Activities

  • Cut apart each numbered section of It's Temple Time and hide them for your children to find and arrange in order.

  • Make a paper 3D temple baptismal font.

  • Build a temple out of blocks and have little toys visit it to perform baptisms for the dead (could use a cup of water as a font if you didn't make the paper model).

Friday

Doctrine: I can be baptized for people who died. 1 Corinthians 15:29

Scripture

  • Have your children try combing their hair without bending their arms. It is not possible without someone else doing it for them. Read 1 Cor. 15:29 and compare to baptisms for the dead. (Idea from here)

Saturday

Doctrine: Heavenly Father wants me to live with Him in the celestial kingdom. 1 Corinthians 15:40–41

Scripture

  • Read 1 Cor 15:40, whispering "telestial" and "terrestial," but loudly saying "celestial." Draw a sun, moon, and stars over the words in their scriptures.

Coloring page

Activities

  • Print these Plan of Salvation visuals and explain the Plan. Turn the pieces face-side-down and have your children pick one and try to tape it to the wall in the correct place.

  • Turn off the lights. Shine a tealight/penlight and flashlight behind paper stars and moon, respectively. Hold the sun picture up to the ceiling light and turn on the light.

  • Do this Steps to the Celestial Kingdom activity (pg 4-5).
